Homeopathic remedies for ADD are alternative treatments. While Ritalin and other stimulants are still the treatment of choice, there is no evidence that medications of any kind improve educational, occupational or social function in the long-term.
The medications are often helpful initially. Sometimes it is necessary to calm down, before other therapeutic approaches can be initiated. But, the medications are not without risk, some of which are life threatening.
The homeopath’s approach helps the child or adult to calm down without causing any unwanted side effects. There are no risks associated with the natural treatments, simply because of the way they are designed.
The homeopath’s approach is actually similar to the pharmaceutical approach. Stimulant medications have a calming effect on children and adults with attention deficit disorders for unknown reasons.
In a person without attention deficit, stimulants would cause fidgeting and other hyperactive behaviors. The drugs would make it difficult to stay seated. Outbursts and excessive talking would also be caused by stimulant therapy.
Outbursts, excessive talking, difficulty sitting still, fidgeting and hyperactive behavior are common symptoms of attention deficit disorders. It seems contradictory that something that would cause those behaviors in a healthy person would soothe the person with those symptoms. But they work in most cases.
Homeopathic remedies for ADD are similar in that the compounds the solutions contain would cause symptoms in a healthy individual. But in a person with attention deficit disorders they are soothing.
The whole basis of homeopathy is treating “like with like”. All of the treatments are based on the idea that a compound that would cause symptoms in a healthy person can effectively be used to treat the symptoms in one who is unhealthy.
The main difference between homeopathic remedies for ADD and stimulant medications is that the stimulating compounds are present in very, very low quantities. In fact, a scientific examination of the solutions using the methods currently available would show there was no detectable level of the compound.
That is why they do not cause side effects. That is why they are completely safe.
In years to come as detection methods improve, it may be possible to see exactly the concentration of the active component. Currently, many scientists view homeopathy as unscientific, because they cannot determine how the treatments work.
Yet, they consider pharmaceuticals scientific, even though we do not know how most of them work. There are only theories about the mode of action of most prescription drugs.
Homeopathic remedies for ADD can be purchased in the US without a prescription. There are no warning labels concerning behaviors to watch for. There are only directions about how much and how often the dose should be repeated.
It is important to remember that the treatment is not a cure for attention deficit disorders. Many of these problems resolve with time. Some continue into college or adulthood.
Children may be able to learn how to control their own behavior while taking homeopathic remedies for ADD. If their problems do not lessen with time, they have a lifetime of coping mechanisms to help them through the day.

As a rule, teenagers or adolescents with depression do not respond to parental attempts to encourage them to think positively. Teenagers and adolescents very often necessitate professional help from a psychologist and therapist to surpass their symptoms. Ruling out a physical disorder, or treating it if one is found, is the first necessary step in helping to relieve your teenager’s feeling of disappointment.
Psychologists today use many diverse approaches to treating depression. For the more severe cases, the most typical outpatient technique is to mix antidepressant medication with psychotherapy. All of these drugs have minor unpleasant side effects, but those for whom the medications bring relief from depression are usually glad to put up with them. Psychotherapy should always accompany pharmacological remedy. As the antidepressant betters the underlying moods, the reasons for the despondency must be explored, maladaptive patterns scanned, and efforts to make essential changes supported.
Psychotherapy by itself works well with teenagers who have mild to moderate depression. Psychologists think that depression takes place from a negative mind set. Treatment focuses on teaching the teenagers to modify their negative view of the world in keeping with reality. The most impelling method in altering the teenager’s thinking is applying cognitive-behavioral techniques.
The teenagers learn how their thinking perpetuates their depression, and the psychologists alter these depression-producing thoughts. The teenagers also master skills to relax and improve their social skills. They become aware of the value of pleasurable activities and inject these into their lives; and they learn how to use these new insights and behaviors in their day-to-day life.
It is hard for anyone who has been frustrated to imagine feeling good again and enjoying the feelings of normalcy. More so, teenagers are far less willing than other age groups to accept the suggestion that they might benefit from psycho-therapy or even consultation from a psychologist. Even when the proof of their problems and unhappiness is unobjectionable, a large proportion will resist seeing a therapist or other mental health professional. These problems should not mean that psycho-therapy should be averted, or once tried that it is doomed. The initiation of psycho-therapy has to be a joint effort by the parent and their teenager working in platform. Such therapy takes time and much patience.

OCD treatment is not difficult if you choose the right treatment. Although obsessive-compulsive disorder can be so debilitating for those that suffer from it, OCD can be eliminated permanently rather quickly and easily.
There are several different approaches to treating OCD including medication, psychotherapy, brain surgery, and self-directed treatment.. Which one is right for you? Consider the following facts.
Medication
There are several drugs that are routinely prescribed for treatment of the symptoms of OCD. Doctors usually start with anti-depressants including Anafranil, Prozac, Paxil, and Zoloft. It would be great if simply taking a pill (or multiple pills) could make your OCD go away. However, it usually takes 2-6 months of trying different medications in varying dosages before any substantial relief is obtained. The use of medications to treat OCD is not designed to eliminate it, but only to minimize the symptoms and behaviors. Another significant drawback to using drugs as an OCD treatment is the risk of side effects. All prescription drugs have potential side-effects and anti-depressants by their very nature are prone to causing unwanted symptoms.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy for OCD includes individual sessions with a trained therapist, group therapy, and family therapy. One-on-one therapy is usually conducted in the classic “talk therapy” approach. The therapist engages the client in a loosely constructed series of conversations in an attempt to uncover the “hidden” sources of the unwanted behavior. Group therapy and family therapy generally utilize the same model, just with additional clients. Needless to say, therapist-directed therapy tends to be expensive and the course of treatment is lengthy before lasting results are obtained.
Brain Surgery
Brain surgery is a possibility for less than 2% of people who suffer from severe OCD. It usually involves using radio waves to destroy certain tissues in the brain. This, of course, is the most radical option for treating OCD, the most expensive, and has the most serious potential side effects.
Self-Directed OCD Treatment
The Linden Method is a structured program of OCD elimination which uses techniques formulated over a decade of practice with over 100,000 clients. A fundamental assertion by its founder is that OCD is a habit and not a mental illness. The Linden Method works by reversing the formation of the OCD ‘habit’. This treatment method uses scientifically proven devices to ‘reset’ your thought process level back down to ‘normal’ at its source. This is accomplished by teaching a person how to undermine and eliminate obsession and compulsion at its core by complying with a set of very simple rules.
For the 96% of OCD sufferers who have applied the Linden Method, it has produced permanent results. The treatment promises that once the OCD is reversed and eliminated, it will not come back. Since the Linden Method does not involve any medication, invasive treatment, or expensive and lengthy psychoanalysis, it is considered by many therapists to be the best initial treatment for the majority of OCD sufferers.
To quickly treat and permanently cure your OCD consider the Linden Method. It worked for me. It has worked for over 130,000 sufferers. It will work for you. No drugs, no therapists, just results.
